Stretching

.... Correct stretching is the most important action in building an electrostatic speaker. Too much power reduces bandwidth, not enough power ends up in contact of diaphragm and stator.

Coating

.... is the action, which mostly influences the longevity of an electrostatic panel. Malfunction results in loss of efficiency right until no output at all. The speaker is dead.

Glueing

... is the most underestimated factor in refurbishing and building electrostatic speakers. The reason of malfunctioning of most models is the use of inadequate glue, like e.g. double-sided sticky tape.

Premises and Facilities for our Services

You are on the about-pages of the reromanus sites,. Here we show the facilities and premises of our workshops, which are located in three different places.

We have the home of reromanus with office, reception and measuring facilities for quickly and easily checking the customers' speakers during his presence. This is simultaneously the room for disassembling and re-assembling the items to be repaired.

Then there is the repair location with stretching jig, extra measurement facilities and coating clean room.

Thirdly we have the machine location for all heavy works. It also contains our huge CNC-machine for panel and stator production.

And finally there is ther lacquering and sanding facility, which enables us to do some sort of finish repair.

Dismantling and Assembling Room

R.A.E. is well reputable Europe wide for a couple of awesome loudspeaker DIY kits, including bass horn, "Karlson Coupler" , Transmission Line and "Tuned Pipe"

The greatest reputation has been given to the R.A.E: loudspeaker kits with Podsus-Görlich drivers, Focal and Shackman tweeters.

Since some decades, R.A.E. develops and produces OTL amplifiers and High Voltage power supplies (EHT).

Stretching Jig

The stretching jig is the heart of our service facilities. It is a professionally built, heavy machine, driven with air-pressure, which has an adjustable fine-control to all 4 directions. The panel under service is been lifted from below the pre-stretched film. Right now, we are able to re-film ESLs with dimensions up to 140cm x 70cm.

Coating

Our coating facilities comprise an air-pressure based system of spaying pistols.

CNC production and machining facilities

The company is specialized on repairing and upgrading all brands of planar loudspeakers of any kind, electrostatics and magnetically driven planars.

Furthermore reromanus is the holder of all registered trademarks, copyrights and patents of Reiner E. Römer. The main activity is distributing the R.A.E. directly driven OTL amplifiers for electrostatic loudspeakers, the high technology modern high voltage power supplies of R.A.E. and the old and new Shackman product series.

There is also an Editing Company "Römer-Verlag" , where special audio literature is distributed and own literature is edited and published.

Lacquering

The company is specialized on restoration of old lacquering of loudspeaker enclosures and all kind of housings of electronic devices. specially ReVox and QUAD electronics are our main concern.

Lacquering air compression unit

There is all equipment for doing good lacquering jobs for e.g. stands and grills.

Office

In emerging business of nowadays, a good IT is needed. We are well equipped for all purposes

This office there is also used as centre of the Editing Company "Römer-Verlag" , where special audio literature is distributed and own literature is edited and published.
